Frequently Asked Questions

What are your fees?

My current fee is $325 per 50-minute session. I’m sometimes able to offer a reduced fee to those experiencing financial hardship or who fit certain other criteria.

Please see the section below regarding insurance reimbursement.

If you definitely need reduced fee therapy and want to discuss it, let’s get in touch!

Do you take insurance?

No. For many, many reasons. BUT… it turns out that most insurance companies provide reimbursement up to a certain percentage (~30-70% depending on your specific plan) for “out-of-network” providers.

Adjusting for this reimbursement… the cost of therapy might range from $90 - $210 per session, depending on your coverage.

So that they can take advantage of this cost-saving option, I provide all my patients with monthly invoices (“superbills”). Submitting these to your insurance company is easy and can often dramatically reduce the cost of treatment. I can also coach you on how to reach out to your insurance provider to ask about whether your specific plan includes these benefits and - if so - how to use them.

Do you offer in-person or virtual (telehealth) therapy?

Both! While in-person sessions are my primary mode of treatment, I also regularly hold telehealth sessions with both new and ongoing patients via phone or on a HIPAA-compliant video platform.

Do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you have about what type of therapy might best suit your needs. You can do so by booking a time for a phone consultation, calling to leave me a voicemail message, or emailing my office at tylervascpsyd@gmail.com.
